The votes are in and Georgia Patrikios is the Animal Enclosure All-Star for Round One. In a dazzling debut against the Bulldogs, Patrikios displayed incredible poise as she collected a game-high 18-possessions. The Saints first pick in the 2019 Draft and fifth overall showed an appetite for hard running with six handball receives and hard work with five tackles.
It wasn’t just Saints fans who recognised the undoubted class of the 18-year-old from the Calder Cannons, the AFL Rising Star judges took notice too. Patrikios, along with Carlton’s Lucy McEvoy, was named the Round One Rising Star nominee.
Patrikios spoke of her debut experience with saints.com.au post-match. “Playing your first game in front of 8,000 screaming fans, that was an unreal feeling,” Patrikos said.”To play in the Saints jumper made it more special. Running out with the fireworks and hearing the song gave me fireworks. It was a day I won’t forget.”
