The Saints maiden AFLW win, an upset result over Melbourne in Round Three will be a match remembered fondly by the club’s supporters for a long time to come. While the gripping contest required a strong team effort to achieve the result there were a few Saints stars who shone a little more brightly on the night.
Caitlin Greiser was a massive presence up forward and worked tirelessly all night. Having the opportunity to kick the match-winning goal was a just reward for her incredible performance. Tilly Lucas-Rodd was once again a steadying force across half-back, so too Co-Captain Rhiannon Watt who single-handedly thwarted a number of Demon goal-scoring opportunities. Olivia Veseley, one of the nine Saints under 21-years to face the Dees, once again showed why she is so highly regarded at Moorabbin.
