The votes are in and Olivia Veseley is the Animal Enclosure All-Star for Round Five. The 20-year-old has been making up for lost time at St Kilda after having to wait until her third draft to earn a place on an AFLW list. Against Carlton she continued her consistent ball-winning ways, collecting a team-high 18-possessions. She shared this team-high status with Georgia Patrikios who she joins at the top of the All-Star Leaderboard after five rounds.
Despite being one of the better performers in her teams debut AFLW campaign, Veseley remains incredibly modest. “The goal was to play round one, and I didn’t think before Christmas that I was a chance to play round one after a couple of chats with the coaches,” Vesely said. “I said to myself after that game, every other game is a massive bonus. I feel very grateful to be on the team.”
It would be fair to say that the Saints are pretty grateful she is on the team to.
