AFL 2020: Mark of the Year Nomination Round One

1. Ben Long

The Saints first Mark of the Year nomination for 2020 came from Ben Long’s effort in the second quarter against North Melbourne in Round One.

It was a case of equal parts exhilaration and concern after Ben Long intercepted Jamie Macmillan’s kick in from fullback. Using Jy Simpkin as a step ladder the athletic halfback took a spectacular mark before landing awkwardly and rolling his ankle. Thankfully, after treatment, he was able to return to the action and have an impact in the second half of the match.
