AFLW 2020: Team of the Week Round Six.

The Saints dominant victory over Richmond at the locked-out RSEA Park saw the club receive two selections in the AFL Team of the Week for Round Six. Caitlin Greiser and Clara Fitzpatrick stood tall literally and figuratively for the club at opposite ends of the ground and demanded selection as a result of their performances.

Greiser who moved into top place in the AFLW Goalkicking award after her three-goal performance and must be firming for All-Australian selection at seasons end. The Tigers had no answer to her strength and marking power and her efforts must have caused some headaches for the coaches of Collingwood and West Coast who are next on the Saints fixture list.

Read out take on the Saints big win over the Tigers in Round Six.

Clara Fitzpatrick has been outstanding for the Saints in 2020 and her selection in the team of the week in round six is a long-overdue reward for her efforts. The 29-year-old Irishwoman was at her best against the Tigers with her reading of the play an absolute highlight. Time and again she was in the best position to win the ball when Richmond went forward.

With Rhi Watt and Greiser’s selection in the Round Three Team, this brings the Saints overall Team of the Week nod’s to four which is an outstanding effort from a team in their first season. Combined with three Rising Star nominations the future looks extremely bright down at Moorabbin.
