AFL 2020: Dan Butler Goal of the Week Nomination – Round 10 v Gold Coast

Dan Butler’s sharp Round 10 snap, one of four goals he kicked against the Gold Coast Suns, was nominated for the AFL’s Goal of the Week. As clever as Butler’s finish was, it was far from an individual effort with a number of his teammates helping put the former Tiger into position to work his magic. Intense pressure from Max King and Brad Hill hurried Sam Collins into a miss kick from the goal square, which was cleverly tapped on to Butler by Paddy Ryder.

Sean Lemmens and Josh Daicos would be Butler’s opposition for Goal of the Week honours in Round 10. Ultimately the 21-year-old Daicos would get the nod, with his effort against Sydney eventually recognised as Goal of the Year at season’s end.
